The first Lil’DMXterMay 4 1991 |
|
A fully functional prototype was introduced at the USITT Conference in Boston in Spring 1991. On May 4 the first batch of production units shipped.
The first serial number was shipped to CELCO of Farmingdale NY, now known as Group One. They’ve used it for 20 years.
On October 6, 2011 Group One returned that Lil’DMXter for a new battery and check out, and possible software update. After the battery was replaced, the unit was tested and found to be fully functional.
We couldn’t pass up the chance
to put it on display at LDI 2011 and on our Web site. With many
thanks to Norman
Wright and Vinnie Finnegan of Group One, it was displayed at LDI with
the
original production software (V1.01). The manual is available for down
loading.
While our current production DMXter4 RDM (and it’s brother, the MiniDMXter4) are vastly more powerful instruments, the original Lil’DMXter introduced many features we still can’t do without!
